COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The Barton women's golf team finished 12th overall at the Championships of Women's Golf Classic which concluded Sunday at the Champions Golf Course. Ohio Dominican University served as the host institution.
The Bulldogs carded a 668 (+108) on the par-70, 5,626-yard course while Ohio Dominican won the event with a 602 (+42) over 36 holes, two shots clear of Gannon.
Barton was led by freshman
Terra Schmitt (Wake Forest, N.C.), who tied for 21st overall with a 157 (+17). Meanwhile, senior
Elyse Godding (Bradford, Pa.) was one stroke behind – 158 (+18) – and tied for 27th after 36 holes of play. Tiffin's Lisa Marie Schumacher (Leipzig, GERMANY) was the individual medalist thanks to a one-under 139 performance, the lone player under par.
Barton next competes in the King Invitational next Monday, September 25, and Tuesday, September 26, at the Golf Club on Bristol in Bristol, Tenn.
