WINGATE, N.C. – Barton College's
Tanner Halvorson has been named to the 2023 NCBWA All-Southeast Region First Team for NCAA Division II Baseball. NCBWA is the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Halvorson, a junior from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, was recently named the 2023 Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Year after going 11-2 with a 1.71 earned run average, 10 complete games, one shutout and 79 strikeouts this campaign.
Halvorson, a first-team all-league selection and a conference and region pitcher of the week this spring, set school single-season records for victories, ERA and complete outings. Halvorson also finished the year with 11 straight wins.
Halvorson started all 50 games as well and hit .339 with six home runs and 36 runs batted in as a designated hitter when he wasn't on the mound.
Halvorson (30-20, 20-10) helped lead Barton to a second-place finish in the Conference Carolinas regular season standings this year.
