GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Barton men's golf team took 11th place overall against mostly NCAA Division I competition at the Ironwood Collegiate Classic which concluded Tuesday at the Ironwood Country Club.
The Bulldogs totaled an 874 (+10) on the par-72, 7,120-yard course while Florida Atlantic won the 54-hole tournament with a 30-under 834, seven shots clear of East Carolina, the host school.
Barton was led by seniors
Kris Jackson (Greenville, N.C.) and
Harrison Wierse (Wilmington, N.C.), who both tied for 28th overall with a one-over 217. The Pirates' Lucas Augustsson (Halmstad, SWEDEN) won the event thanks to a 15-under 201 performance.
Barton next hosts its Fall Intercollegiate on Monday, October 16, and Tuesday, October 17, at the Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.
