Barton football puts five on the 2022 All-South Atlantic Conference Piedmont Division Team

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Five members of the Barton College Football Team earned 2022 All-South Atlantic Conference Piedmont Division honors, conference officials announced today.

Sophomore running back Jordan Terrell (Ramseur, N.C.) and sophomore linebacker Shane Perry (Holly Springs, N.C.) were named to the all-league first team while sophomore offensive lineman Alex Buschow (Raleigh, N.C.), sophomore wide receiver Kameron Johnson (Rocky Mount, N.C.) and sophomore defensive back Quayon Gilbert (Thomasville, N.C.) garnered second-team all-conference honors for the Bulldogs.

Terrell ranks second in the league in rushing yards per game (148.4 ypg) and finished the season with 1,632 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns.  Terrell, who was named league offensive player of the week twice this year, was an All-Super Region No. 2 honoree in 2021 after finishing second in NCAA Division II in rushing.

Perry led the team and ranks first in the conference in tackles this year with 98 in addition to an interception, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Buschow anchored an offensive line which helped the Bulldogs average over 213 yards rushing per game this year while Johnson was the team's top wideout with 44 receptions for 566 yards and five touchdowns.  Gilbert finished the fall campaign to go along with an interception, a pass break-up and a fumble recovery.

Barton, an Associate Member of the South Atlantic Conference for 2022 and 2023, finished the year with a 4-7 record including a 3-6 mark in league play under third-year mentor Chip Hester.
