WILSON, N.C. - The Barton football team (1-6, 0-3) fell to UNC Pembroke (6-2, 3-1) by a 59-0 score Saturday in a Conference Carolinas game at damp and chilly Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.

UNC Pembroke took control early and pushed out to a 38-0 lead at intermission.

The Braves' Jake Davids (Wilmington, N.C.) rushed for 99 yards and two scores to lead the visitors' ground game as UNC Pembroke held a 571-63 edge in total yards.

Barton was also shut out for the third time this year and was held without an offensive touchdown for the fourth straight contest.

Barton sophomore linebacker Sean-Jacob Bethea (Wake Forest, N.C.) tallied five tackles and recovered a fumble in the setback.

Barton hosts league-foe North Greenville for Homecoming next Saturday, October 24, at 2:00 p.m.  The game is also Senior Day and the home finale for the Bulldogs.
