Barton women's lacrosse falls to No. 15 Limestone on the road in conference action

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (4-4, 2-2) lost to No. 15 Limestone (6-1, 4-0) by a 20-2 score in Conference Carolinas action Friday afternoon at Saints Field.

Limestone was led by Julia Foster (Louisville, Ky.) with 11 total points – six goals and five assists – as the Saints scored the first 14 goals of the match on their way to their fourth straight triumph.

The Saints' Britannie Ouimet (Westlock, Alberta, CANADA) added five goals while Teja Gallop (Brookfield, Conn.) earned the win in goal after stopping two shots.  Barton received goals from senior attacker Courtney Willis (Columbia, S.C.) and senior midfielder Morgan McGuffin (Huntingtown, Md.) while junior goalkeeper Katherine Mattena (Salt Lake City, Utah) was tagged with the setback.  Limestone held advantages in both shots taken (32-6) and ground balls (19-9) in the win.

Barton will look to bounce back on Tuesday to face Nyack (N.Y.) at home beginning at 6:00 p.m., at the Electric Supply Company Field while Limestone hosts No. 10 Tampa on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
