WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (5-8) suffered a 16-11 setback to Lenoir-Rhyne (8-6) Tuesday afternoon at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
The Bears' Abbey Walker (Canton, Ga.) scored six times – match-high - while Kirra Olson (Holly Springs, N.C.) added three goals as Lenoir-Rhyne used a 7-1 run in the second half to break a close open and win its fourth consecutive game.
Barton lost despite eight points – a team-high five goals and three assists – from sophomore midfielder
Berghan Balparda (Melbourne, Fla.) and three goals from freshman attacker
Jessica Olds (Media, Pa.).
Lenoir-Rhyne held advantages in both shots taken (39-18) and ground balls (25-18) while freshman goalkeeper Salley Friesen (Calgary, Alberta, CANADA) made four saves while picking up the win.

Barton remains at home to take on Belmont Abbey in a Conference Carolinas game on Saturday morning beginning at 11:00 a.m. Lenoir-Rhyne, meanwhile, returns home to host Anderson on Saturday afternoon starting at 3:00 p.m.
