Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Barton College men's volleyball team (9-2) won its fifth straight contest with a 3-1 triumph over Queens University of Charlotte (5-8) Friday night at the Levine Center and Curry Arena.
The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-22, 17-25, 25-10 and 25-14 and swept the season series from the Royals.
Barton was led by sophomore outside hitter Adrian Iglesias (Guaynabo, PUERTO RICO) with 16 kills and a .600 hitting percentage and senior right side hitter Angelos Mandilaris (Chalkida, GREECE) with 13 kills in the victory. Mandilaris also increased his school-record kill total to 1,317.
The Bulldogs also limited the Royals to just a .150 hitting percentage and finished with 10 service aces in the win. Queens was led by Tristan Santoyo (Diamond Bar, Calif.) with 13 kills in the losing effort.
Barton returns to Conference Carolinas play on Saturday at Noon against Belmont Abbey in Belmont, N.C., while Queens hosts Lincoln Memorial next Friday, February 28, at 7:00 p.m.
