Box Score WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (7-2, 4-0) swept another Conference Carolinas foe with a 3-0 sweep over Limestone (7-3, 3-3) Sunday evening at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs defeated the Saints by scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 33-31 with the third and final set a back-and-forth thriller Barton finally pulled out.
Barton was led by senior right side hitter Angelos Mandilaris (Chalkida, GREECE) with 15 kills including the match-winner in the third stanza while freshman outside hitter Nicolo Mancin (Montecchio Maggiore, ITALY) added 13 kills as the Bulldogs hit .400 for the match.
Limestone was led by Francisco Salinger Cenzual (Cipolletti, ARGENTINA) with 17 kills and the Saints had several set points in the third stanza but couldn't break the Bulldogs. Senior setter Oscar Fiorentino (Bayamon, PUERTO RICO) added 42 assists for the Bulldogs, who moved to within a half-game of King (Tenn.) at the top of the league standings.
Barton next travels to Mount Olive, N.C., to take on Mount Olive on Wednesday in a Conference Carolinas match beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Limestone hosts King Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
