ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – Barton freshman Isabel Reed (Wilson, N.C.) ran a 24:51 over 6K to finish first at the 2019 North Carolina Wesleyan Women's Cross Country Classic and Invitational on Saturday morning. The meet was the first of the season for the Bulldogs.
Reed helped the Bulldogs finish fourth overall as a team while Meredith won the team competition. A total of 10 schools competed in the race. Reed bested the runner-up by 10 seconds.
Sophomore Morgan Lane (Elm City, N.C.) also finished in the top ten for the Bulldogs, placing seventh overall with a time of 26:55.
Barton next competes in the Queen City Invitational Friday, September 27, at 5:00 p.m., at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, N.C.
