Barton women's cross country competes at the Queen City Invite on Friday evening

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Barton Women's Cross Country Team was back in action after three weeks Friday at the Queen City Invite which took place at McAlpine Creek Park.  The meet was hosted by Queens University of Charlotte.

For the third meet this year, Barton was paced by Hailey Russell, a freshman from Jacksonville, N.C.  Russell finished 103rd overall with a time of 19:52 over the 5K course.  Bulldogs' junior Meghan Araldi (Albany, N.Y.) crossed the finish line in 22:03 to take 182nd overall.

Duke took home top team honors while Liberty's Noel Palmer won the race in 17:10.  The Flames also finished second overall as a collective unit.

Barton will next compete in East Carolina University's Pirate Invitational on Friday, October 12, at Lake Kristi in Greenville, N.C., beginning at 4:30 p.m.
