Barton men's volleyball wins on Senior Night, 3-0 over Coker

WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (22-4) celebrated Senior Night in style with a 3-0 sweep of Coker (5-15) Tuesday evening in the regular season finale at Wilson Gymnasium.  The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-16.

The Bulldogs – who swept the season series from the Cobras – were led by senior outside hitter Vasilis Mandilaris (Chalkida, GREECE) and junior right side hitter Angelos Mandilaris (Chalkida, GREECE) with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.  Angelos Mandilaris now has a team-leading 400 kills on the year, currently ranked second in the league.

The Bulldogs also hit .457 for the match while junior setter Ben Kasun (Altoona, Pa.) added 16 assists and four kills in handing the Cobras their seventh straight setback to end the season.  Barton also hit Coker with 11 service aces in the contest.

Coker was led by Max Kuntz (Chesapeake, Va.) with nine kills and Brandon Ravelo (Newnan, Ga.) with 28 assists and six digs in the losing effort. 

Barton, the No. 1 seed in the 2019 Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship, will take on eighth-seeded Erskine (6-20), in the quarterfinal round on Saturday at 6:30 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium.  Barton and King (Tenn.) tied for the league regular season crown for the third straight year.
