Box Score WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (20-3) won its 14th consecutive match with a 3-0 sweep of Queens (7-17) Friday evening at Wilson Gymnasium in a non-conference regional contest.
The Bulldogs – who are now 20-1 in their last 21 matches – won over the Royals by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 26-24.
Barton was once again led by junior right side hitter Angelos Mandilaris (Chalkida, GREECE) with a match-high 19 kills while freshman outside hitter Adrian Iglesias (Guaynabo, PUERTO RICO) added 12 kills, six digs and a .478 hitting percentage as the Bulldogs swept the season series from the Royals. Mandilaris now has a team-high 362 kills on the season.
Barton junior setter Ben Kasun (Altoona, Pa.) added 39 assists and seven digs as the Bulldogs limited the Royals to just a .184 hitting percentage. The Bulldogs have not lost since a 3-2 setback to North Greenville on the road on Saturday, February 2.
Queens' Tristan Santoyo (Diamond Bar, Calif.) finished with a team-high 11 kills and the Royals did have 11 blocks in the losing effort.
Barton next travels to Bristol, Tenn., to take on King (Tenn.) in a Conference Carolinas showdown on Friday, April 5, at 7:00 p.m. while Queens takes on Mount Olive on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., in Mount Olive, N.C.
