WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's tennis team (5-3) won its second straight match with a 7-0 shutout victory over Edinboro (Pa.) (0-6) Saturday morning at the Bulldogs complex.

Three Bulldogs – senior Daria Avram (Buzau, ROMANIA), junior Marissa Stevenson (Kirk Michael, ISLE OF MAN) and senior Vanessa Sanoja (Bolivar, VENEZUELA) – triumphed at both singles and doubles action as Barton picked up the easy home victory.

Avram was once again playing No. 1 for the Bulldogs, beating the Fighting Scots' Laura Lopez (Bogota, COLUMBIA) by a 6-2, 6-3 score at first singles.

Barton remains at home to host Shaw Monday at 2:00 p.m., while Edinboro takes on Wagner (Fla.) in the Spring Tennis Fest on Sunday, March 3, at 1:00 p.m., in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
