WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's tennis team (8-2, 4-0) won its seventh straight match after downing Shorter (8-6, 2-2), 6-1, Saturday afternoon in Conference Carolinas contest at the Michalak Complex.
The Bulldogs were led by seniors
Leonie Hellum-Lilleengen (Bekkestua, NORWAY) and
Eulalia Pascual Biosca (Albatarrec, SPAIN) and junior
Aarni Yellu (Hyderabad, INDIA) with victories in both doubles and seniors play.
Hellum-Lilleengen and Yellu both extended their winning streaks in singles play to seven and six matches, respectively.
Barton travels to Murfreesboro, N.C., to take on league-foe Chowan on Tuesday starting at 2:00 p.m.
Shorter, meanwhile, hosts Gadsden State Community College on Tuesday starting at 1:00 p.m.
