FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – For a second straight week, Barton College freshman Hailey Russell led the Bulldogs with a third-place finish Saturday morning at the 2018 Monarch Cross Country Classic.
Russell ran a 28:38.58 on the 6K course for BC. Also running for the Bulldogs were freshman Morgan Lane and junior Meghan Araldi. Lane took 15th with a time of 31.39.25, while Araldi placed 22nd overall (32:36.39).
The host school, Methodist University, took first-place overall with 35 total points. The Monarchs also had the top overall finisher in Lindsey Pritchard (26:53.06).
Barton will return to action on Friday, Sept. 28, at the Queens City Invitational. The meet will take place in Charlotte, N.C. at McAlpine Creek Park beginning at 4 p.m.
