GAFFNEY, S.C. – A second-year program competing two players short due to injury, the Barton College women's lacrosse team found itself no match for nationally-ranked No. 6 Limestone College on Sunday, falling 22-1 to the Saints.

Limestone (7-1, 4-0) enjoyed a 41-7 edge in shots and committed just five turnovers in cruising past the Lady Bulldogs (4-5, 2-3).

Freshman Jenna Brunclik scored her team-leading 31st goal of the year for Barton on a free position shot with 4:51 left in the first period, but the Lady Bulldogs already trailed by 12 at that point.

Kendra Sheppard tallied four goals to pace Limestone, which saw 10 different players score in the contest.

Barton freshman goalie Katherine Mattena corralled 13 saves to prevent the score from becoming even more lopsided.

Sophomore Rebecca Fraser collected three groundballs and won six draw controls in the losing effort for the Lady Bulldogs.

Barton will host first-year program Southern Wesleyan University in its next match on Monday, March 26.
