RALEIGH, N.C. – The Barton College women's swimming team notched a pair of victories on Saturday in a tri-meet against King University and William Peace University at the Triangle Aquatics Center.
Barton tallied a 207-25 victory against the host, William Peace and followed with a 161-89 win against Conference Carolinas rival, King.
The team of Nicola Macdonald, Addy Nemitz, Alayna Moore, and Kleanza Cathers notched a first-place finish for Barton in the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 3:47.58. Kristen Price, Mia Hernandez, Callie Burnette, and Kazia Patzer finished second in the same race with a time of 4:02.41.
Burnette, Patzer, Moore, and Annika Jasek-Rysdahl placed second for the Bulldogs in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:55.76. Price, Maya Barth, Kaylee Davis, and Adie Powell recorded a third-place finish in the race with a time of 2:03.83.
Barton recorded nine victories on the day, including three top finishes by Macdonald in the 200-yard freestyle (2:04.21), 100-yard freestyle (55.63), and 500-yard freestyle (5:37.55).
Cathers also notched three victories on the day for Barton, taking the top spot in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:46.42. She also was the first to finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.18 and 400-yard IM with a time of 4:51.71.
Nemitz and Jasek-Rysdahl tallied first and second-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke for the Bulldogs. Nemitz clocked a time of 1:05.85, while Jasek-Rysdahl recorded a time of 1:07.25. Davis would be victorious for BC in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.57.
The Barton women will host the University of Mary Washington on Nov. 3 in Rocky Mount, N.C. at 1 p.m.
