RALEIGH, N.C. – The Barton College men's swimming team recorded a pair of convincing victories on Saturday in a tri-meet against King University and William Peace University.
Barton tallied a 212-24 victory against the host, William Peace and followed with a 191-63 win against Conference Carolinas rival, King.
The team of Michael Cutidioc, Jaksa Gabric, Alexander Hoscila, and Colin Strickland notched a first-place finish with a time of 1:39.24 in the 200-yard medley relay, while Harrison Strutz, Jonathan Moss, Cade Popejoy, and James Day finished just behind with a time of 1:40.77.
In the 400-yard freestyle relay, BC recorded the top-two times as Day, Gabric, Colton Spence, and Robert Zamorano carded a time of 3:18.02. Strickland, Cutidioc, Strutz, and Hunter Pope finished right behind with a time of 3:21.27.
Barton recorded 10 victories on the day, including a top finish by Aaron Tebbe with a time of 2:08.88 in the 200-yard butterfly.
Jonathan York notched a pair of victories for the Bulldogs along with a second-place finish. York clocked a time of 16:38.93 in the 1650-yard freestyle and finished just ahead of Zamorano (17:28.54). He also placed first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:57.04. York brought home a second-place finish in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:19.33.
Gabric tallied a pair of victories for Barton in the 100-yard backstroke (59.77) and 200-yard backstroke (2:16.78). Hoscila also delivered a pair of top finishes for BC in the 50-yard freestyle (22.60) and 100-yard butterfly (55.90).
The Barton men will host the University of Mary Washington on Nov. 3 in Rocky Mount, N.C. at 1 p.m.
