RICHMOND, Va. – Barton College's
Bartlomiej Swiderski has been named to the 2020-21 CSCAA Scholar All-America Honorable Mention Team for men's swimming. CSCAA is the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America.
Swiderski, a junior from Warsaw, POLAND, is a business administration major who is coming off a season in which he captured three Conference Carolinas individual championships for the second straight year: men's 100-yard and 200-yard backstrokes and the men's 200-yard individual medley. The 200-yard backstroke earned him an NCAA Division II "B" cut qualifying time.
In 2019-20, Swiderski was the first swimmer in Barton program history to earn All-American honors. Swiderski picked up AA accolades in two events – the 100-yard and 200-yard backstrokes – and qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division II National Championship but the finals were cut short due to the pandemic.
Swiderski holds five individual program records and is a part of five relay teams which hold program-best marks. In addition, Swiderski is also a member of the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll.
To qualify for First Team Scholar All-America by the CSCAA, student-athletes must have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections (also called Honorable Mention) must have also earned a 3.50 grade point average or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet.
All told, 789 swimmers and divers from across the country have earned the prestigious honor. To see the full listing, click
