FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Kelly Dolan and Alyssa Torres scored goals for Barton College as the women's lacrosse program completed its first season of competition with a 14-2 road loss at Emmanuel College.
The Lady Bulldogs finished their inaugural campaign with an official record of 2-10 overall and 1-9 in Conference Carolinas play, although that mark includes a loss that subsequently turned into a forfeit win.
Emmanuel improved to 10-5 overall and 6-4 in the league with the win.
The Lions took a 9-0 advantage into halftime and led 13-0 before Torres recorded her 11th goal of the season on a free position shot to put Barton on the board with 18:20 to play. Dolan added a late goal, the 17th of her senior year.
Dolan also added three ground balls and three draw controls, both team highs. Freshman Rebecca Fraser forced a team-high five EC turnovers.
Emmanuel enjoyed a 28-12 edge in shots and forced Barton into 28 turnovers while committing 22. Kia Morris posted seven saves in net for the Lady Bulldogs.
