GAFFNEY, S.C. – Limestone College remained perfect in Conference Carolinas play after handing the Barton women's tennis team a 5-4 loss on Saturday afternoon.
Barton (6-8, 3-4) fell behind 2-1 after doubles play as the No. 3 tandem of seniors Lorraine Chon-Qui and Dana Kelly picked up BC's lone point with an 8-3 win. The victory was the 10th doubles' win of the season for the pair.
The Lady Saints (7-5, 7-0) clinched the match decision with three victories in singles play, winning in the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5 spots.
Sophomore Daria Avram collected a 2-6, 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 2 for Barton, while fellow sophomore Vanessa Sanoja was victorious by a score of 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 3 position. Barton's final point came via a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 win at No. 6 from D. Kelly.
The Lady Bulldogs will look to rebound as it travel to Belmont, N.C. on Tuesday, March 28 for a league matchup with Belmont Abbey College at 2 p.m.
