ELON, N.C. – The Barton women's tennis team was unable to overcome a tough task, falling 7-0 to NCAA Division I Elon University on Thursday afternoon at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
One point is awarded in doubles against NCAA Division I competition, and Elon earned that point by winning all three doubles matches against the Lady Bulldogs.
The Pheonix won all six singles contest to secure the shutout on its home court as Barton was only able to win three games in individual competition.
Barton returns to action on Friday, March 24 in Spartanburg, S.C. in a Conference Carolinas contest against Converse College.
