MUNCIE, IND. – The Barton College men's team fell to No. 13 Ball State University 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-17) on Friday night in Worthen Arena.

The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for Barton (6-3) as Ball State (9-3) picked up its sixth straight victory. The Cardinals hit .383 as a team, while the Bulldogs hit just .111 with 25 attacking errors in the loss.

Ball State controlled the first set early on and earned a 25-20 victory to take a 1-0 lead. Barton kept the second set of play close, forcing nine ties on the scoreboard before the Cardinals closed out the frame on a 13-5 run that ended with back-to-back errors by BC.

BC battled back from a 4-0 deficit in the third set to get within one point in the early-going, but Ball State proved to be too much to handle with an eight-point set victory to seal the match win.

Senior Pierre Tang-Taye finished with 11 kills in the match, while freshmen Aleksa Brkovic and Vasilis Mandilaris each recorded seven kills. Freshman Nick Leary totaled four kills with just one error for a .600 hitting percentage as junior Federico Pagliara led all players with 29 assists.

Barton ends its brief two-game road trip tomorrow with a trip to Philippi, W. Va. to take on Alderson-Broaddus University at 4 p.m.
