WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College Football Team recently released its 2024 schedule. The slate features five games at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium including the season opener against West Virginia State on Thursday, September 5, at 6:00 p.m. The Bulldogs and the Yellow Jackets will be meeting for the first time ever.
Barton also plays Eastern North Carolina-foe Chowan on Saturday, September 14, at 6:00 p.m., in Murfreesboro, N.C., to round out the non-conference schedule.
The Bulldogs remaining nine contests are against schools in the South Atlantic Conference where Barton is an affiliate member through this season. Conference Carolinas begins league play in football in the fall of 2025.
Barton hosts Anderson, a first-year program, on Saturday, September 28, at 2:00 p.m., and entertains national-power Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday, October 19, at 2:00 p.m. The Bears (13-2, 8-1) are the defending league champions who advanced to the national semifinals last fall and finished the year ranked No. 4 in the nation.
Barton hosts Catawba for Homecoming on Saturday, November 2, at 2:00 p.m., and faces UVA Wise for Senior Day on Saturday, November 16, in the regular season finale beginning at 2:00 p.m.
In addition, the Bulldogs take on Emory & Henry for the first time ever in Emory, Va., on Saturday, September 21, at 1:00 p.m., and faces Limestone on the road on Saturday, November 9. The Saints (8-4, 8-1) also made the NCAA Division II Playoffs last year.
