WILSON, N.C. – The Barton football team (3-7, 3-3) will wrap up the 2025 season on Saturday night when the Bulldogs host rival Chowan (3-7, 2-4) in a non-league regional affair at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
Barton is coming off a 37-7 victory over Erskine last Saturday evening at home on Senior Night. The Bulldogs were keyed by senior wide receiver
Isaiah Jacobs (Raleigh, N.C.) and sophomore running back
Jackson Parrish (Graham, N.C.).
Jacobs set new single-game records for receptions (10), yards receiving (192) and touchdown catches (three) while Parrish crossed the 200-yard rushing mark for the third time this year. Parrish had 204 yards on 36 carries and two touchdowns.
Parrish also crossed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season while junior linebacker
Keno Jones (Rocky Mount, N.C.) leads the team in tackles (111) to go along with three forced fumbles and one forced fumble.
Chowan is coming off a 40-37 loss to Ferrum last Saturday in double overtime at home. The Hawks fell to the Bulldogs by a 28-21 score on Saturday, October 18, in Wilson, N.C., thanks to a 221-yard rushing, three-touchdown performance from Jackson.
Chowan's quarterbacks – Maurice Smith (Fort Pierce, Fla.) and Nyjal "Jelly" Johnson (Starkville, Miss.) - had combined for 1,935 yards passing and touchdowns.
The Hawks are headed up by third-year mentor Paul Johnson while the Bulldogs are led by sixth-year Head Coach
Chip Hester. Barton leads the all-time series with Chowan, 4-0.
