WILSON, N.C. – The Barton football team (3-8) saw its 2025 season come to an end with a 20-6 setback to Chowan (4-7) Saturday evening at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
The Hawks' Romeo Felton (Akron, Ohio) led the way with 132 yards rushing and a pair of two second-half touchdowns on the ground as Chowan won over Barton in a non-conference regional affair.
Chowan outscored Barton by a 17-0 score after intermission and held a 357-265 edge in total yards as the Hawks avenged an earlier loss to the Bulldogs. The visitors also picked off a pair of passes.
Barton defeated Chowan by a 28-21 score on Saturday, October 18, at home.

Andrew Bontekoe (Charlotte, N.C.) kicked a pair of second-quarter field goals of 33 and 26 yards while senior linebacker
Corey Peterson (Raleigh, N.C.) led all tacklers with 12 takedowns.
