ROCK HILL, S.C. – Barton College's
Jordan Terrell has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, league officials announced earlier today.
Terrell, a junior running back from Ramseur, N.C., rushed for 256 yards on just 26 carries – a 9.8-yard average – to go along with two scores including the game-winning 63-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter in the Bulldogs' 28-24 victory over UVA Wise last Saturday at Truist Stadium in the conference opener.
Terrell currently leads NCAA Division II in rushing at 194.0 yards per game to go along with four touchdowns so far this season. Terrell was a South Atlantic Conference All-Piedmont Division First-Team honoree last season and earned weekly offensive honors for the second time in his career.
Terrell, an honorable mention All-American (2022) and a two-time All-Super Region II selection (2021-22), has 4,337 yards rushing and 37 touchdowns so far as a collegian with the Bulldogs.
Tusculum's Dajavon White (Cocoa, Fla.) and Lenoir-Rhyne's DeAree Rogers (Lexington, S.C.) have been named the conference's defensive and special teams players of the week, respectively.
Barton (3-0, 1-0) hits the road to take on Mars Hill (2-0, 1-0) in a South Atlantic Conference contest this Saturday, September 23, at 1:00 p.m., in Mars Hill, N.C.
