SALISBURY, N.C. – The Barton football team (5-3, 3-3) will look to snap a two-game losing streak Saturday afternoon when the Bulldogs travel to Catawba (3-5, 1-5) to face the Indians. Kickoff at Shuford Stadium is set for 2:00 p.m.
Barton is coming off a 38-24 setback to Wingate on Homecoming this past Saturday at Truist Stadium. Barton fell behind by a 28-7 score at halftime before cutting the deficit to four points – 28-24 – in the third quarter but couldn't get any closer the rest of the way.

Jaquan Lynch (Rocky Mount, N.C.) passed for 285 yards and two touchdowns while catching a scoring toss as well in the losing effort. Lynch, however, did throw two fourth quarter picks while Wingate rolled up 479 yards of total offense in the win.

Kameron Johnson (Rocky Mount, N.C.) threw the touchdown pass to Lynch in addition to catching nine balls for 187 yards and a 75-yard touchdown reception. Barton junior running back
Jordan Terrell (Ramseur, N.C.) passed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the third straight season after a 17-carry, 54-yard performance. Terrell, the school's all-time leading rusher (4,797), also caught a 20-yard touchdown pass against Wingate.

Shane Perry (Holly Springs, N.C.) leads the squad with 74 tackles to go along with an interception and a forced fumble so far this season.
Catawba is coming off a 27-16 setback to Limestone last Saturday for its third straight setback as the Indians couldn't hold a 13-0 halftime lead. Catawba is led by quarterback Preston Brown (Charlotte, N.C.) with 2,107 yards passing and 18 touchdowns.
The all-time series is tied, 1-1, while the Bulldogs prevailed by a 38-21 score last year on Saturday, October 29, in Wilson, N.C., thanks to a 302-yard, four-touchdown performance by Terrell.

Chip Hester. Hester was the Head Coach at Catawba for 11 years (2002-12) where he led the Indians to 70 victories and three berths in the NCAA Division II Playoffs. Catawba is coached by Tyler Haines, who is in his first year at the helm.
