ROCK HILL, S.C. – Barton College's
Jaquan Lynch has been named the South Atlantic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week, league officials announced earlier today.
Lynch, a sophomore quarterback from Rocky Mount, N.C., totaled three touchdowns – two on the ground and one through the air – in leading the Bulldogs to a 40-20 win over UVA Wise this past Saturday in Wise, Va., in the league opener. Lynch also rushed for a game-high 146 yards.
On the season, Lynch has thrown for 330 yards and four touchdowns and ranks second on the squad in rushing at 90.3 yards per game.
Wingate's Marquise Fleming was named the conference's defensive player of the week while Wingate's Ethan Evans earned the league's special teams player-of-the-week accolades.
Barton (2-1, 1-0) hosts Mars Hill (1-1, 1-0) in its 2022 home opener on Saturday, September 24, beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
