Box Score GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (8-12, 6-7) earned a 72-62 Conference Carolinas victory over Limestone (3-20, 2-13) Tuesday evening at the Timken Center.
Barton senior guard Michael Boykin (Clinton, N.C.) led the Bulldogs with 17 points while junior forward Isaiah Reddish (Durham, N.C.) added 16 points as the Bulldogs swept the season series from the Saints.
Limestone's Jaedon Willis (Baltimore, Md.) led all scorers with 26 points but the Saints suffered their eighth straight setback. The Bulldogs forced the Saints into 20 turnovers in the contest.
Trailing by a 50-45 score with 13:02 remaining in the game, Barton reeled off 14 straight points to take the lead for good over the next four minutes. Junior guard Shemar Hudson (Wilson, N.C.) came off the bench to score seven points and hit the game-winning three-pointer for the Bulldogs. Barton also won from the free throw line, connecting on 20-of-31 attempts as compared to a seven-of-eight performance from the charity stripe by Limestone.
Barton remains on the road to take on King (Tenn.) on Saturday afternoon in Bristol, Tenn., in a league contest beginning at 2:00 p.m., while Limestone faces Southern Wesleyan on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., as well in Central, S.C.
