Barton men's basketball rebounds with convincing victory over Limestone, 82-57

WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (4-5, 2-0) snapped a two-game losing streak in dominant fashion in an 82-57 triumph over Limestone (1-9, 0-3) Tuesday evening in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium.

Barton senior forward Isaiah Buck-Lowman (Springfield, Va.) finished with a team-high 21 points including four three-pointers and senior guard Michael Boykin (Clinton, N.C.) added 19 points and six assists as the Bulldogs remained unbeaten in league play.  Buck-Lowman is now 22 points away from 1,000 for his career.

Limestone – losers of four straight games – was led by Joseph Battle (Abbeville, S.C.) with a game-high 24 points but the Saints shot just 36 percent (24-of-67) from the field including three-of-22 (14 percent) from behind the three-point line.

Barton held a 47-39 advantage with just under 15 minutes left in the contest before putting the game away with a 16-2 run capped off by a lay-up from Boykin.  Barton senior guard Jeff Gordon (Woodbridge, Va.) added 17 points off the bench and the Bulldogs hit nine treys in the win.

Barton hosts Emmanuel (Ga.) on Thursday, December 12, in a Conference Carolinas game at 7:30 p.m., while Limestone returns home to battle league-foe North Greenville on Saturday beginning at 4:00 p.m.
