WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College women's basketball team will host the Valkyries of Converse College on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. in a Conference Carolinas mid-week matchup.

The Lady Bulldogs (8-11, 7-5) have won five of their last seven contests, however, a 67-42 loss to King University last weekend has the team looking to right the ship.
Last season Barton swept the Valkyries in both regular season matchups, winning by an average margin of 20 points, including a 69-42 victory on February 22 in Wilson.
For the season, senior Kaila Lea is the team's leading scorer with 12.5 points per game, shooting 33.3 percent from three-point-range and making 1.8 three-pointers per contest.
Freshman Alexis Johnson has averaged 9.9 points and 6 rebounds in 12 games, while sophomore Tiffany Webster averages 9.8 points and a team-high 2.7 assists. In the post, senior Brianna Thomas leads the way with 9.4 points and 6.9 rebounds as sophomore Shatisha Dukes follows close behind with 8.1 points and 5.6 rebounds of her own.
As a team, the Lady Bulldogs average 64.6 points per game, pulling down 40.2 rebounds per game and handing out 10.8 assists. Barton ranks fifth in the league in scoring defense, allowing 63.9 points per game, while ranking third in turnovers forced with 22.
The Valkyries (2-13, 1-11) lost 13 straight games before picking up a win over the weekend in a 78-68 victory over Southern Wesleyan.
For the season, senior forward Margo Dill leads Converse with 10.9 points per game and 5.7 rebounds. Freshman Logan Hollis is second on the team with 7.9 points and 4.9 rebounds, while junior Ashley Salgado dishes out a team-high 3.9 assists, good for fifth overall in the conference.
As a team, Converse averages a league-low 56.1 points per game on 33.7 percent shooting from the field, while the Valkyrie defense allows 69.2 points per game.
