MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (12-15, 8-11) snapped a five-game losing streak with a 72-54 win over Mount Olive (3-21, 2-17) in a Conference Carolinas contest between rivals Monday night at Kornegay Arena.

Lauren Walker (Charlotte, N.C.) and junior guard
Lauren Mingo (Clinton, Md.) both scored in double figures with 10 points each as the Bulldogs avenged an earlier regular season loss to the Trojans.
Mount Olive prevailed over Barton by a 61-47 score on Thursday, January 23, in Wilson, N.C. Walker remains sixth on the Bulldogs' all-time scoring list with 1,824 points.
Barton was dominant right from the start, jumping out to a 23-9 advantage after one quarter of play and doubling up Mount Olive at halftime, 44-22.
Barton held a 51-32 advantage on the boards and forced Mount Olive into shooting just 34 percent (20-of-59) from the floor. The Trojans, losers of eight straight contests, were led by Anna Miller (Wake Forest, N.C.) with 12 points.
Barton returns home to take on Chowan in its home finale in a league contest Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium while Mount Olive faces UNC Pembroke in Pembroke, N.C., on Wednesday starting at 5:00 p.m., as well.
