WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College women's basketball team will be looking to rebound from a tough loss over the weekend while the men's basketball team vies for its second straight victory as the Bulldogs travel to Central, S.C. on Tuesday, Jan. 20 to take on Conference Carolinas foe Southern Wesleyan University at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Lady Bulldogs vs Southern Wesleyan
After a one-point loss to nationally ranked No. 9 Limestone last weekend on the road, the Lady Bulldogs (6-10, 5-4) hope to get back on track with the second game of their road trip at Southern Wesleyan University.
The Warriors are 6-7 overall with four of their wins coming in league play. Southern Wesleyan is currently on a two-game losing streak, having dropped back-to-back contests with King University and Emmanuel College.
Southern Wesleyan averages 64.2 points per game on the offensive end, led by senior guard Bri Seda with 12.7 points per game and sophomore forward Christina Perkins with 12.1 points per game, 7.8 rebounds and 3.5 steals.
Barton College has risen to fifth in the conference standings with victories in three of its last four contests and will be looking to get back on track after a 64-63 loss to the top team in the league.
The Lady Bulldogs held the Saints to just 36.9 percent shooting from the floor, but 25 turnovers on the night spelled doom down the stretch.
Senior guard Kaila Lea scored a career-high 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the floor, including 7-of-12 from three-point range, with seven rebounds, while fellow senior Brianna Thomas was the Lady Bulldogs' second leading scorer, notching a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds in 34 minutes of play.
Lea leads the team with 13.1 points per game as sophomore Tiffany Webster and freshman Alexis Johnson each average 9.9 points per game for Barton. Thomas follows close behind with 8.9 points of her own while leading the team with 7.1 rebounds.
Bulldogs vs Southern Wesleyan
The Barton men's basketball team (10-7, 6-3) has won six of its last eight contests, including a 75-72 victory over Limestone College in its most recent matchup on the road.
The Bulldogs will now travel to Southern Wesleyan University for a matchup with the Warriors, who currently boast a 3-13 overall record with a 3-6 mark in league play, having lost their last seven games including five straight within the conference.
Barton's offense continues to sit atop Conference Carolinas, scoring 85.5 points per game and pulling down 42.4 rebounds per game. In contrast, the Warriors average 71.5 points on 34.9 percent shooting from the floor and turn the ball over an average of 17.7 times per contest.
Once again, the Bulldogs will look to contain one of the top offensive weapons in the conference square as Southern Wesleyan dresses the second-leading league scorer in senior guard Cameron Solomon (19.7 points per game). The Warriors have three players who average double figures as guards Kenny Holmes (12.8 points) and senior Buster Walker (12.4 points) round out the double-digit scorers.
Barton suits up freshman Danny Shand (17.5 points per game, 4.4 assists) and junior Jake Veasley (16.2 points per game, 43.1 three-point percentage). Shand and Veasley place fifth and seventh respectively in the individual points per game rankings within the conference.
Barton senior Ryan Canoy is the team's third leading scorer with 9.2 points per game and 5.4 rebounds, while junior Dominique Byrd averages 9 points and 6.6 rebounds as a key contributor off of the bench.
