WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (3-1, 1-0) opened Conference Carolinas play with a 4-1 victory over Ferrum (0-2, 0-1) Saturday afternoon at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.

Barton senior midfielders Dot Tieszen (Anchorage, Ark.) and Lilly Moss (Prairieville, La.) both scored their third goals of the year while the Bulldogs took advantage of an own goal to win their third straight contest.

Moss, who has now found the back of the net in three consecutive contests, scored the match-winner in the 25th minute off an assist from senior midfielder Lily Brooks (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) to open the scoring.

Sophomore forward Ziara Brunson (Fayetteville, N.C.) scored twice for the Bulldogs, who held a 31-13 advantage in shots taken while freshman goalkeeper Olivia Terranova (Fayetteville, N.C.) made a pair of stops to pick up the win.

For Ferrum, Breanna Herlihy (Frankfort, Ill.) scored the visitors' lone goal while Natalie Dinh (Buford, Ga.) made nine saves but suffered the loss.

Barton next travels to Central, S.C., to take on Southern Wesleyan in a league match next Saturday, September 12, starting at 1:00 p.m., while hits the road to take on Shaw on Wednesday starting at 7:00 p.m.
