WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (2-1) made it two wins in a row with a 2-0 triumph over Shaw (0-2) Tuesday afternoon at a toasty Bulldogs Athletic Complex.  The match was called in the 74th minute because of lightning nearby.

Barton received goals from senior midfielder Lilly Moss (Prairieville, La.) and junior midfielder Kayla Loughrey (Broomfield, Colo.) in each half to lead the Bulldogs to the win.

The goal was Moss' second score in as many matches while freshman goalkeeper Olivia Terranova (Fayetteville, N.C.) earned the shutout victory for Barton.

Terranova, the reigning league defensive player of the week, notched four saves on the hot afternoon and tallied her second straight shutout. 

Barton held a 23-7 advantage in shots taken while Shaw's goalkeeper, Alexis Stephens (Mebane, N.C.), suffered the loss despite four stops as well.

Barton opens Conference Carolinas play on Saturday, September 5, when the Bulldogs host Ferrum beginning at Noon.

Meanwhile, Shaw travels to Fayetteville, N.C., to take on Methodist on Sunday, September 6, starting at 3:00 p.m.
