WILSON, N.C. - The Barton women's volleyball team (3-9, 1-4) swept Belmont Abbey (7-4, 2-2) in three sets Friday evening to pick up its first Conference Carolinas win on the season at Wilson Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs, who snapped a five-match losing streak in the process, won over the Crusaders by scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 27-25.

Barton was led by junior outside hitter Bailey McIntyre (Mooresville, N.C.) with nine kills and 11 digs while graduate student middle blocker Bella Bianchin (Matthews, N.C.) added eight kills in the victory.

Barton also registered 10 services aces and nine total blocks as a team in the victory.

For Belmont Abbey, Emma Youngblood (Fletcher, N.C.) tallied a double-double - 12 assists and 23 digs - while Renata Bolado (Sugar Land, Texas) added 11 kills but the visitors were limited to a 0.077 hitting percentage in the setback.

Barton remains at home to take on Erskine on Saturday at Wilson Gymnasium in league action beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, Belmont Abbey travels to Murfreesboro, N.C., to take on Chowan in conference action Saturday afternoon starting at 1:00 p.m.
