MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Barton women's soccer team (5-1, 3-0) made five straight victories with a come-from-behind 2-1 triumph over Chowan (1-4, 1-2) Wednesday evening in a Conference Carolinas contest at the Hawks Athletic Complex.

Barton sophomore forward Ziara Brunson (Fayetteville, N.C.) scored both goals within a five-minute stretch in the second half - at the 67:00 and 72:19 marks on the contest - as the Bulldogs rallied from a 1-0 deficit to remain unbeaten in league play.

Brunson now has five goals in the last three matches while freshman Olivia Terranova (Fayetteville, N.C.) earned the victory in goal after making five saves on the day.

For Chowan, Maya Schofield (Milnthorpe, ENGLAND) found the back of net after taking a control of a loose ball of a corner kick just four-plus minutes into the match while goalkeeper Maddie Bermudez-Richardson (Shallotte, N.C.) also made five stops but suffered the loss.

Barton also held a 19-12 advantage in shots taken in the triumph.

Barton returns home to take on Emmanuel in a league match on Saturday, September 19, beginning at Noon.

Chowan, meanwhile, travels to Rome, Ga., to take on conference-foe Shorter on Saturday morning starting at 11:00 a.m.
