WILSON, N.C. - The Barton women's soccer team (5-2, 3-1) saw its five-match winning streak come to an end with a 2-1 upset loss to Emmanuel (2-4-1, 2-1-1) Saturday afternoon at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex in Conference Carolinas action.

Emmanuel's Jillian Aldrich (Weeki Wachee, Fla.) scored the match-winner on a breakaway in the 75th minute as the Lions were able to come out on top despite the Bulldogs holding a 28-4 advantage in shots taken.

The Lions also scored an own goal in the first half while sophomore forward Ziara Brunson (Fayetteville, N.C.) found the back of the net for her team-leading sixth goal of the year at the just over two minutes after the start of the second half.

Emmanuel's Ana Ramirez-Cortez (Bogota, COLOMBIA) and Kylie Warren Young (Snellville, Ga.) combined for 11 saves on the day in the win. Barton freshman goalkeeper Olivia Terranova (Fayetteville, N.C.) made a pair of stops but suffered the loss.

Barton hits the road to take on Francis Marion in a league match on Wednesday beginning at 4:30 p.m., in Florence, S.C.

Emmanuel, meanwhile, traveles to Young Harris, Ga., to take on Young Harris in a conference contest on Wednesday as well starting at 4:00 p.m.
