WILSON, N.C. - The Barton women's volleyball team (2-9, 0-4) fell in three sets to rival Mount Olive (6-6, 2-2), 3-0, Tuesday evening in a Conference Carolinas match Tuesday evening at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Trojans won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-20, 25-15 and 25-14.
Mount Olive hit .333 for the match and was led by Kaitlyn Koel (Sioux Falls, S.D.) with 10 kills while Lyndsay Reaid (Thomasville, N.C.) dished out 29 assists as the Trojans tallied 10 service aces in the win.
Barton was led by freshman outside hitter
Petra Mooney (Athens, Ga.) with nine kills but the Bulldogs hit just .128 for the contest and remained winless in league play. Â
Barton looks to rebound on Friday when the Bulldogs host league-foe Belmont Abbey beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Mount Olive, meanwhile, takes on Shorter in conference action at home on Saturday, September 19, starting at Noon.
