WILSON, N.C. - The Barton field hockey team (1-3, 0-2) fell to Coker (1-4, 1-1), 1-0, in a South Atlantic Conference match Tuesday evening at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.

The Cobras scored the lone goal of the match in the 25th minute when Franesca Montanera (Quilmes, ARGENTINA) found the back of the net off a double assist from Angelina Belosio (Buenes Aires, ARGENTINA) and Kiera Donnelly (Oceanside, Calif.).

Coker held a 10-4 advantage in shots taken while Zahira Ferreyra (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA) earned the win in goal after playing three quarters and stopping a shot.

Barton's goalkeeper, freshman Zoie Serna (Centennial, Colo.) allowed just one goal and made five stops despite the loss.

Barton hits the road to take on third-ranked Newberry in a league contest Saturday morning beginning at 11:00 a.m., in Newberry, S.C.

Coker, meanwhile, returns home to host Belmont Abbey in a conference affair on Saturday, September 19, at Noon.
