CENTRAL, S.C. - The Barton men's soccer team (1-3-1, 0-1-1) tied Southern Wesleyan (2-3-1, 0-1-1), 2-2, in a Conference Carolinas match Saturday afternoon at Childs Field.

Barton senior forward Blake Grove (Newstead, AUSTRALIA) scored twice for the visitors but the Warriors Jacob Zúñiga (San Jose, COSTA RICA) found the back of the net to tie the match in the 77th minute courtesy of a penalty kick.

Grove, who leads the team with three goals on the year so far, scored just 1:29 into the match and Barton held leads of 1-0 and 2-1, respectively, despite the tie.  The Bulldogs also held a 20-10 edge in shots taken.

In goal, Barton junior goalkeeper Devin Agostinelli (Apex, N.C.) made a pair of saves while Southern Wesleyan's Jonah Keoughan (College Station, Texas) made eight stops in goal.

Barton remains away from home on Wednesday when the Bulldogs travel to Murfreesboro, N.C., to take on Chowan in a conference contest Wednesday night beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Southern Wesleyan, meanwhile, faces Erskine on Wednesday, September 16, at 4:30 p.m., in a league match in Due West, S.C.
