GREENVILLE, S.C. – Barton College's
Terra Schmitt and
Ryan Jahr named Conference Carolinas 2025-26 Spring Scholar-Athletes of the Year presented by Hudl for women's and men's golf, respectively.
Schmitt, a junior from Wake Forest, N.C., has a 4.00 grade point average while majoring in Biology.
Schmitt had the team's best scoring average (75.6) and earned all-conference honors for the third straight season. Schmitt also was named to the league all-tournament team and won a pair of tournaments this year: Golden Mane Classic (Commerce, Ga., on Sept. 8-9) and the Converse Fall Invite (Spartanburg, S.C., on Oct. 27-28).
Jahr, a senior from Ocean Isle Beach, N.C., is an exercise science major who earned All-Conference Carolinas honors for the third straight season in 2026.
Jahr also qualified for the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional Championship as an individual in May and led the team in scoring this spring (71.6). Finally, Jahr won the Hampton Farms Intercollegiate (April 13-14 in Ahoskie, N.C.) and earned league all-tournament honors in April while leading the Bulldogs to a second-place conference finish.
The Scholar-Athlete awards Presented by Hudl are awarded annually to one individual in each Conference Carolinas sponsored sport. The Scholar-Athlete of the Year winners are chosen by the Conference Carolinas Student-Athlete Affairs and Awards Committee.
To be considered, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher. In addition, the nominees for the award must have been named all-conference in their sport and also chosen academic all-conference.
The Conference Carolinas Spring Scholar-Athletes of the Year Presented by Hudl represent an impressive five different member institutions.
