Barton men’s lacrosse to face Anderson in first-ever game in the national tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (10-7) will take on Anderson (13-4) in the First Round of the 2026 NCAA Division II National Tournament on Wednesday, May 6, in Anderson, S.C.  The Trojans and Bulldogs will play at 4:00 p.m., at Spero Financial Field at Melvin & Dollie Younts Stadium.

Both teams play in the South Region.  The Bulldogs are the tenth seed after earning the automatic berth when they prevailed in the 2026 Conference Carolinas Championship.  Barton, in its eighth year of existence, will be playing in the postseason for the first time in school history.

Barton, riding a six-game winning streak, defeated Lees-McRae by a 15-12 score on Sunday, April 26, in Young Harris, Ga., to capture its second league title.

Anderson is the seventh seed and a member of the South Atlantic Conference.  The Trojans are the seventh seed and earned an at-large bid.  Anderson is ranked No. 9 in the current NCAA Division II National Poll.

The winner will travel to second-seeded and fourth-ranked Wingate (13-3) for a second-round contest on Sunday, May 10, in Wingate, N.C.

The 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse National Championship will take place on Sunday, May 24, at Scott Stadium on the campus of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
