WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (6-7, 4-3) held off Young Harris (3-11, 2-5) by a 16-11 score Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas contest at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.

Drew Paxson (Bel Air, Md.) scored a game-high three goals while senior attacker
Nick Nelson (Wilmington, N.C.) totaled five points – a pair of goals and three assists – as the home team jumped out to an 11-4 halftime lead and withstood a second-half rally by the Mountain Lions to earn the home victory.
Young Harris' Colburn Connelly (New Westminster, British Columbia, CANADA) and John McElhenny (Davidsonville, Md.) both scored twice in the losing effort.
Barton held a 48-32 advantage in shots taken and a 27-20 edge in ground balls in picking up its second straight triumph.

Luke Woollard (Kent, ENGLAND) earned the win in goal after stopping seven shots while Young Harris' first-half goalkeeper, Jonah Polhemus (Hoover, Ala.), made four stops but suffered the loss.
Barton wraps up the regular season with a home contest on Friday, April 17, at 7:00 p.m., against Chowan while Young Harris takes on North Greenville in Tigerville, S.C., on Friday starting at 6:00 p.m.
