DUE WEST, S.C. – The Barton College baseball team (7-28, 5-22) fell twice in a Conference Carolinas doubleheader, 7-4 and 5-4, to Erskine (23-20, 17-10) Saturday afternoon at Grier Field.
Game One – Erskine 7, Barton 4
The Flying Fleet's Danny Villafane (Royal Palm Beach, Fla.) highlighted a four-run frame in the sixth inning with a two-run single as Erskine rallied from a 4-3 deficit to take the win.

David Lieux (Montgomery, Ala.) led the visitors with three hits and a pair of RBI despite the loss.

Game Two – Erskine 5, Barton 4
Villafane hit the game-winning sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning – scoring Drew Potts (Jefferson County, Tenn.) – to help the Flying Fleet complete the sweep.
Mason McManus (Pensacola, Fla.) finished with two hits and two runs batted in while Brandon Fears (Snellville, Ga.) (2-1) was credited with the win in relief for Erskine.
Barton sophomore shortstop
Tyler Hughesman (Mooresville, N.C.) hit a two-run double in the fourth inning as the Bulldogs jumped out to a 4-0 lead but couldn't hold the advantage in dropping their 11th straight contest.
Barton graduate student
Nathan Waldridge (Louisville, Ky.) fell to 1-2 after taking the loss.
Barton returns home to take on Virginia State on Tuesday afternoon starting at 3:00 p.m., while Erskine hosts league-foe Francis Marion on Friday afternoon starting at 3:00 p.m.
