ETTRICK, Va. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (1-1) picked up its first win of the 2026 campaign with a dominant 18-2 win over Virginia State (0-1) Wednesday afternoon at Rogers Stadium.

Sawyer King (Wake Forest, N.C.) finished with a team-high three goals and six more players scored twice for the visitors in the triumph.
King totaled four points and scored the match-winner while senior midfielder
Justin Washington (Humble, Texas) finished with two goals and an assist as the Bulldogs held sizable advantages in both shots taken (53-21) and ground balls (30-10) in the victory.
The Trojans got goals from Miles Jackson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Andre Bigham (Rochester, N.Y.) while Jace Wiggins (Laurel, Md.) stopped 16 shots but suffered the loss in goal.

Luke Woollard (Kent, ENGLAND) made six saves and picked up the win.
Barton hosts Palm Beach Atlantic Conference in its home opener on Saturday, February 7, at Noon at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium. Virginia State hosts Point Park on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1:00 p.m.
