CENTRAL, S.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (8-14, 6-8) fell to Southern Wesleyan (8-12, 5-8), 79-76, in a Conference Carolinas game Wednesday evening at historic Tysinger Gymnasium.
The Warriors' Jaquay Randolph (Tallahassee, Fla.) was one of four players for the home team to reach double figures and finished with a game-high 23 points on 10-of-15 field goal in addition to 17 rebounds for the double-double in the triumph.
Barton junior guards
Jaylen Faber (Columbia, S.C.) and
Sean Quick-Streeter (Columbia, S.C.) both scored a team-high 18 points but the Bulldogs suffered their third straight setback.
The Bulldogs cut a 16-point second-half deficit to one point – 75-74 with 46 seconds left – but Barton couldn't get any closer the rest of the way.
Barton looks to bounce back on Saturday afternoon when the Bulldogs host King at Wilson Gymnasium in a league contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, Southern Wesleyan hosts Chowan in a league game on Saturday, February 7, starting at 4:00 p.m.
