WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (1-4) lost to Catawba (3-0) by a 12-9 score Saturday afternoon at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
Catawba's Peyton Turner (Cornelius, N.C.) scored a game-high four goals as the Indians reeled off four straight scores in the second half to take control and remain unbeaten on the season.
Six players scored for the Bulldogs while junior long stick middle
Brendan Bedell (Holly Springs, N.C.) finished with a goal and a pair of assists in the setback.
The Bulldogs took the setback despite a 43-36 edge in shots taken. Catawba's goalkeeper, Ben LoPiccolo (Mason, Ohio), finished with nine saves and earned the victory.

Luke Woollard (Kent, ENGLAND) totaled seven stops in goal despite the loss.
Barton hosts Emmanuel next Friday, February 27, in a Conference Carolinas contest beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Catawba travels to Saint Leo, Fla., to take on Saint Leo on Saturday, February 28, starting at Noon.
